Corfe CastleThe village of Corfe has a very distinct skyline, it is dominated by the ruined castle. As well as the remains of Corfe Castle, there is also the model village which is set in 1646, as the village would have been before it was destroyed by Cromwell's troops in the civil war. There is also Corfe Castle Church which is dedicated the King Edward who was killed 978, apparently on orders from his wicked Stepmother to allow her own son, Elthelred the Unready, to take the throne. Corfe's history is endless and there is even evidence of Civilisation at Corfe in 6000 BC! And after all that history why not treat yourself to a 'Dorset Cream Tea' in the Model Village Courtyard Cafe before wandering through the village to do a spot of souvenier shopping then taking a nostalgia trip in 'Memory Lane' with their range of American , English and German and well known artist bears.
